Recently, I was divorced. I have a house in Florida which my ex-wife resides. I live in California. During the divorce proceedings, my ex-wife(who was still legally my wife at the time) did a loan modification on the house, which is in both of our names. Can she do this without my signature?

How long does it take for loan home modifications? Are they still allowed to do home modifications on a property that’s under foreclosure?
It takes a while. That’s the most stressful part. You have to be delinquent to get a modification, but being delinquent means you are at a threat of foreclosure. A lender should be smart enough to see that you are pending modification and shouldn’t schedule the court date for foreclosure while the modification process is in motion (don’t count on this – keep communicating with the bank!).
Don’t be surprised if your modification is rejected to see a very fast foreclosure.

I beleive that the modification agreement should be reviewed if you don’t understand it; but I would not hire one of the "modification lawyers" to get me one.

Depends on the state. Most state allow taking of property as Joint tenants with right of survivorship or tenants by the entirety, so that the death of one allows the other to take title without passing thru probate; assuming you took title that way.
In that case the judgement is the property of the estate and not the problem of the title holder.
Some states don’t. Your atty can tell you as can the county clerk’s office

I was wondering if some one could help my find a good deal on a home. Im looking into the portland real estate market. Maybe Vancouver, but finding a portland home would be much better. I know the Portland real estate market is actually on the better markets right now. I know of rmls and googled some sites. If there any site in Portland that might have foreclosures or short sales. Any ideas.
PS Dont give me the usual stuff, I need something different. Anyways is would be nice to find a portland home at 70-80 cents on the dollar.
Not sure what the top asnwer is all about. Try RMLS its the local MLS for Portland real estate. Then there is another site you should check out if you’re looking for something diffrent. I left a link. You’re right portland real estate is going pretty good. The inventory is kind of high but the prices on portland real estate havent came down much at all.
